Landings.

What is Landings?

Landings is an ‘art-trail’ type collection of self-initiated, small-scale local exhibitions, installations of work, and digital portfolios being produced by the Falmouth Flexible Photography community. Open to contributions from students and teaching staff across all currently-running modules of Falmouth Flexible Photography (both MA and BA Top up), the exhibition is usually managed by three student volunteers within the Surfaces and Strategies module of the MA course, and usually takes place during the third study block each year.

The purpose of Landings is to increase online and offline exposure and provide formative feedback for projects that are ongoing.  Although locations, artworks and sub-themes vary each year, the concept is underpinned by an intention to build a robust international photographic community without borders.  As Falmouth historically served as one of the first ports for returning ships of the Royal Navy and as a station for the Packet Service, the exhibition continues Falmouth's presence as a point of exchange and communication with the wider virtual and physical worlds.

Above is my contribution to the project. High Desert.

High Desert is a project that looks into the lives of people living and building communities in high desert areas. it explores how they are using the land and resources available to them along with what they are doing to preserve the land and its heritage.

Alongside partaking in the exhibit I was a part of the curation team that organized and styled the gallery.
